• Bring enough water and snacks – most trails don’t have refreshment points, so plan for at least 2 liters of water per person.
• Wear proper hiking shoes and clothes – trails like Cetățile Ponorului or Cheile Galbenei can be steep and slippery in places.
• Check the weather forecast before heading out; mountain conditions can change quickly.
• Follow the marked trails – all paths in the Apuseni Natural Park are well maintained and clearly marked.
• Download offline hiking maps – we recommend using Munţii Noştri or Locus Map, which display all local routes, difficulty levels, and landmarks.
• Make your presence known in dense forest areas by talking or clapping occasionally – it helps alert wildlife to your approach and avoids surprises.
